Managers are natural multipliers in any organization. They’re the conduit between leadership direction and employee execution. Imagine if all managers were change agents capable of translating leaderships’ messages to their teams for greater buy-in, managing low performers in the moment, co-creating career development plans with team members, and successfully navigating many other roles we expect them to take on. This all starts with clearly defined expectations to narrow down what truly matters at this particular point in time. Once defined, expectations can be used as a scaffolding to build a robust learning portfolio around it. To close the loop, managers need to be held accountable to expectations, triggering growth and continuous transformation. The bigger vision is to establish a reality where every team member has a great management experience, thereby lowering regretted attrition, increasing collective performance and densifying talent.
